ACL Reconstruction

November 1, 2018
Cathleen Q.

ACL Reconstruction

Dr. Braun, You performed an ACL reconstruction on my left knee about two and half years ago. I wanted to let you know how well I am doing and vis a vis what a great job you did on my surgery. Since I last saw you, I have lost 26 pounds and taken up running on a regular basis (yes, even after I was told at my age I might need to stop running) and in the last year I completed my first 5K, a Full Tough Mudder (10 mi), the Appalachian Ragnar Trail Relay in the WV mountains (16 miles broken up into 3 loops ((The three loops are green (hard), yellow (harder) and red (really freakin’ hard)) you get a few hours rest between loops but the loops range from green 3.5ish miles to yellow 4.0ish miles to Red 6.5ish miles in length), and finally, just this past Sunday I ran and completed the Marine Corps Marathon a full 26.2 miles. My knee couldn’t be better. So, thank you for a job well done from one of your age 50 something athletes, who was advised before seeing you that ACL reconstructions were not done on people my age. I’m having the time of my life.
